Paper optimizes the Vanilla server engine for lower lag and higher player counts while staying compatible with Bukkit and Spigot plugins. Choose Paper for survival, skyblock, minigame or economy servers with admin tools, permissions, anti-grief protection or custom commands — without editing Java mods on the client.

Create Your Paper Server

1. Create a new server and select Paperas the server software.
2. Choose the Minecraft version your plugins and players need.
3. Set a player-appropriate RAM allocation — Paper is lighter than modded loaders at the same player count.
4. Start the server and confirm it reaches the RCON-ready state in the live console.
